Less expensive diapers may still cost more

The cost of diapers is not the only consideration when trying to save money. Poorer quality diapers aren't always completely effective and you may find yourself reaching for tissues, wipes or towels to clean up any excess mess. High quality diaper manufacturers pride themselves on quality standards, which means you are unlikely to find a defective diaper in the pack. With lower quality diapers some clean diapers might end up in the trash before your baby has a chance to use them. Your best bet is to try some samples of a few different brands before making your decision. Consider all of the supplemental costs before committing to one brand.
