If an uninsured friend crashes your car, you are left responsible for all payments that exceed your coverage. Plus, your premium will most likely go up after any incident. Similarly, keep in mind that with multi-line policies, one accident can negatively impact all drivers – meaning everyone's premium goes up. If you're not sure what your policy covers just ask them before lending (and specifically ask about having other people driving your vehicle).
