Arriving a few days earlier or later could mean much cheaper hotel rates. Also, many tourist destinations are more expensive on weekends. For example: weekday rates at Las Vegas hotels can sometimes be half the price of weekends. In addition, being flexible about location can also translate into big savings on hotels. A hotel across the street from the beach might be half the price of one right on the beach.
