Even if the cartridge appears to be out of ink…check it. First, give it a little shake. Yes, believe it or not, a gentle shake can more evenly redistribute the ink in the cartridge, providing a longer life. Second, check for clogs. Run a moist cloth along the bottom of the cartridge. Once you’ve done these two things, re-install it back into the printer. If it works, great, you’ve just saved a few bucks. If not, at least you can toss it and have peace of mind.
