Turn the thermostat on the hot water heater down to 105 degrees instead of the usual 115. This reduction in temperature will save a few dollars each month on the gas bill. Also consider only turning the heater on when it is in use, instead of leaving it on all the time. If going away on vacation, turn it off while you are away, too.
