Much baby furniture is overpriced because it is considered specialty furniture. However, you can find regular furniture of a higher quality and better value, just by shopping around. Consider consignment shops and garage sales, furniture sales, and nude-furniture stores (which will often simply require a coat of paint). For dressers, just make sure drawers can’t be pulled all the way out and look for sharp corners.
