You can save money right now by increasing the deductible (how much you have to pay if something goes wrong) on your insurance policy. This could reduce your premium by up to 25%. Better yet, if you have already prepaid your premium and make this adjustment, you might get the savings back in the form of a refund check sent right to you – check with your insurance company to be sure. The downside of course is that you need to be able to afford that deductible if the worst should happen. Consider putting your savings each year into a special rainy day account and you may very well come out ahead.
