When traveling, don’t underestimate the power of promotional magazines. Check out welcome centers, rest stops and hotel brochure racks. Most magazines will have tons of discount coupons.
Before traveling, call the destination’s tourist board or chamber of commerce and ask them to send you a visitor’s pack – these are often full of discount coupons and ideas for things to do. Check out local newspapers, city halls, community centers and the Internet for calendars of what’s happening in town. If you’re a local – do the same in your own town.
