Compact and sub-compact rental cars most often have the cheapest rates, and the prices increase as the size and luxury of the cars do. It is worth checking the prices for all the classes of cars you are interested in and then comparing – you may be surprised at how much more an SUV or larger car costs (and want to reevaluate whether or not you really need it) or you may be pleasantly surprised to find that a midsize car is just pennies more than a compact one.
