Many people buy books they “just have to have,” only to leave them sitting on their bookshelves for months or years. It’s an even bigger waste if you buy when books are newly released (and expensive) since they can be bought later for less. Instead, leave that money sitting in the bank, and only buy a book when you are ready to read it. Then only buy a new one after you’ve read the last ones you bought. The exception: if you find a book on clearance (at least 60% off) that you were planning to buy soon, don’t miss the chance to score a big discount especially if you still have the option to return it for a refund.
