Make room in the freezer so you can buy in bulk or freeze meals to have again later. Make a big pot of stew or soup and freeze it for a time you know you’ll feel too lazy to cook. Cook an entire roast instead of paying a premium for select pieces. Then, instead of stopping for take-out, defrost it and voila, instant meal. Check with the butcher or grocery store to see how much you can save by buying meat in bulk and freezing for later. If you have a large family, buying a second freezer could pay off just on the savings from not eating out.
