Making toys for a child to play with can be both a cheaper option and a more rewarding experience. Create paper mache piñatas together or build a kite or model airplane. For kids who seem to like the boxes toys come in as much as the toys themselves, why not give them paint or crayons and a plain box to decorate and play with. A wooden spoon and a saucepan makes just as much fun noise as an expensive toy drum. Make a fort out of a large cardboard box or out of bed sheets. There are plenty of ways to make new toys and fun without having to spend too much money.
