Day care is getting increasingly expensive, but often both parents need to work to pay the bills. See if your employer can be flexible with your work hours to help reduce child care costs. Working from home one or two days per week or working alternative hours so that one parent can be home with a child, reduces the need for day care. Be sure to create an insulated work environment in your home so that you can be productive during the work-from-home hours.
