The sales and clearance racks should be the first port of call for any bargain shopper. Skip over new, expensive lines and see what great bargains can be found on clearance, usually at the back of the store. If you see something you like that’s brand new in the store, wait a few weeks and go back – chances are the item will go on sale to make room for something new.
Instead of finding a way to justify paying more for something, find a way to justify how a clearance item will work just as well for you. And don’t forget extra discounts: retailers who have a lot of clearance items will often offer “extra % off” just to get them out of the store. Don’t be shy about asking about other deals.
