UPromise is a free program that gives members rebates on everyday purchases at grocery stores, drugstores, restaurants and more. The rebates go into a savings account for your child to help pay for their college education.
To get the most out of this service:
- Start early. As soon as you have kids, sign up!
- Register all your credit cards and loyalty cards. The more cards that are registered, the more rebates you’ll receive. Remember to update if your card # changes or if you get a new card.
- Get friends and family to join too. Anyone can join and designate your child as the recipient of the rebate.
Once your cards are signed up, just shop as you normally would. You’ll find that many of the products you already buy qualify for rebates, so it’s pretty easy to get that ‘free’ money. Of course, if you want to go even further, you can also plan your purchases in order to maximize your rebates (but there’s no pressure to do so).
Best of all, membership is free and the savings can add up after a number of years.
