Some manufacturers sell both a canned and a fresh-packed variety of their baby food. Look around the refrigerated section of your local grocery store for more options and more chances at a last minute bargain. Like other produce, fresh-packed baby food has a short shelf-life. These items will often be tagged for quick sale to avoid being thrown away. If nothing is on sale today, make note of any upcoming expiration dates and try to come back to that store a few days before these items expire. Always take care of the expiration date so that unused food doesn’t spoil.
