While they are meant to be convenient and help kill the smell of a dirty diaper, diaper genies are also a waste of money. After all, you can accomplish the same thing just by walking the diaper out to the trash can!
Plastic supermarket bags or used Ziplocs work really well to wrap up a mess. If you already have a diaper genie, instead of buying $6 refills, consider using regular kitchen garbage bags – they are just as effective but for a fraction of the price.
Likewise, diaper stackers and baby wipe warmers are not necessary. Your baby will get used to wipes right out of the canister, and you can stack diapers just about anywhere.
