The store’s brand is a great substitute for many canned and boxed items. Generically-labeled vegetables, beans and pasta are often produced by the same manufacturer as their “name” brand counterparts. The quality difference is minimal and the taste is similar. Try a few less expensive alternate brands to see how they compare and you could see a large drop in your grocery bills. Some store brands even offer a satisfaction guarantee, which means you can return the product if you don’t like the taste (check your store policies, usually listed at customer service).
