Do a bit of yard surveillance before embarking on a new landscaping project. See what areas get full sun and which areas get a lot of shade. Then, plant accordingly. Group shade-seekers together and sun-lovers together. Keep plants that require a lot of water in one zone so water is not wasted on plants that don’t need as much.
And, keep in mind, new landscape design does not have to happen all at once. Instead, do a little bit at a time, in phases, according to the best value plants on the market or what vegetables are growing according to the season.
