This holds true for annual flowers, herbs and vegetables. Seeds are significantly cheaper than flats of flowers. Although growing from seed will take a little bit longer, it will save a lot of money, plus it will give extra satisfaction to watch the flowers and vegetables grow where there was only soil before.
