Add a reflective coating to roofing, or replace old roofing with a lighter color to save money on energy costs. This is especially useful in warmer climates where dark roofs can heat up to 190 degrees. Heat from the roof seeps down to heat up the living areas below. Reflective coatings or lighter colored roofs can deflect some of the heat, thereby reducing cooling costs.
