In some ports, you can have just as much fun and do similar activities without paying the cruise-branded excursion price. Do online research to see if local companies offer similar, cheaper excursions to the ones offered by the cruise line. However, if you do want to participate in a cruise-branded excursion, book early, as most will fill up.
