If you have a fireplace but don’t use it frequently, seal the chimney. This will save approximately 14% of a home’s heat loss. Simply seal the chimney with a garbage bag stuffed with fiberglass insulation, or an inflatable draft stopper and you’ll save a few dollars each month on the electric bill.
