A great way to save on heating costs is to keep doors to unused rooms closed. This way the heater won’t work to unnecessarily heat rooms that are not in use. Likewise, where possible, close the vents to those rooms as well (unless you have forced air heating). Limit the opening and closing of outside doors to keep the heat in as much as possible. If you need to open a window for a bit of fresh air, only open it an inch or so, to limit the cold air flowing in to the house.
