Getting the furnace tuned every two years will save more than 1,000 pounds of carbon dioxide and lower the energy bill. Wash the air filters regularly for additional savings. Make sure you have an adequate supply of oil before winter starts, so you won’t be stuck with a surprisingly cold house in the middle of the night if you run out of oil.
