When you buy a new computer, a lot of the memory will be taken up by the operating system and any applications and software you're running on it. In addition, though, manufacturers often put on their own extra "bloatware" (aka foistware or shovelware) that can take up as much as 10GB to 20GB of storage space. This bloatware could be trial software, light versions of programs or other items you probably don't need. Take a look through your new computer to make sure your valuable storage space isn't being wasted. Remove programs you don't need. This is just one of the many ways you can prolong your PC's life.
