There are a multitude of phone service providers and resellers which you can access right now from your home phone by dialing an extra set of numbers before the regular phone numbers. These are called "10-10" numbers because those are the digits that you usually have to dial first. The calls are billed on your regular phone bill and often offer big savings versus standard charges from your phone company, plus they don't require a plan commitment. However they may be unnecessary if you have an unlimited plan. Try the rate comparison to find the most cost-effective option. Some services charge an access fee and very low per-minute rates which are ideal for longer calls that you are sure will go through. Others have no access fee but slightly higher per minute rates, which are better for shorter calls.
