For those who ski or play golf only once or twice per year, renting or leasing equipment can be cost-effective. Not to mention the attic or basement space you'll save from not having to store bulky equipment. Treadmills, camping gear, exercise bikes and skis are a few examples of the many types of sporting and fitness equipment that can be rented. Search Google for options near you.

Of course, to determine if it makes sense for you to rent or buy, compare what the cost would be either way.
