Champagne has to come from Champagne, France, in order to have that special name. But many sparkling wines are just as good, for half the price. Ask for recommendations from local wine sellers. Likewise, if you are supplying your own liquor, or if your reception hall offers options to choose from at different prices, ask for recommendations for good quality but less costly brands. Your guests will enjoy the drinks no matter what you serve, and you can save a big portion of your reception costs. Likewise you have choices when it comes to food. An elegant spread of appetizers, in place of a sit down meal, can be a fun and delicious alternative. Or go for tasty but less expensive dish choices for a main course.
