Most warranties offered by jewelry stores don't cover damage from wearing, they only cover manufacturing defects. It can be difficult to make a warranty claim on a piece of jewelry with a lot of fine print attached. However, do insure expensive jewelry in case of loss or theft. Check with your homeowners or renters policy to find out how to register your jewelry for coverage, since there are usually low insurance limits otherwise.
