Check the grocer's freezer aisle for more options when shopping for canned goods. Many manufacturers also offer a frozen version of their fruits and vegetables, which could save you even more. The more options you have, the better chance you will have to find a bargain.

Frozen items are often fresher and taste better than their canned counterparts and you can still stock up if you find a great deal because they usually last for about 3-6 months in the freezer. Avoid vegetables that come with premade sauce or spices though. You often pay extra for these additives that never seem to taste as good as you'd hope. Add your own spices to plain vegetables.

Frozen vegetables usually taste better than canned and you can buy large volume bags because you can put the unused veggies back in the freezer (seal tightly to avoid freezer burn).
