But you can often find the best prices on airfare much faster by using a travel search engine like or They will simultaneously search individual airlines sites as well as a variety of travel search sites (including,, and more). Finding airline deals.
I often find best fares on sites like Kayak, then once i identify the airline and exact flight...i do even better by going directly to that airline's site and book the flight with them, usually without extra fees!

Yes I do something similar. I find the flight on Kayak, and then click through to the airline website to book. It is the same price whether you start on Kayak or go to the airline site directly, it's just easier to find the best options going to Kayak first.
