A fill cycle diverter is a simple device that costs under a dollar and can be found at most hardware stores. It is designed to divert overflow water back to the toilet tank during the fill cycle, and will save approximately 1/2 gallon of water or 10% per flush. This can add up to thousands of gallons saved for a family over the course of a year.
